Happy New Year & An Important Update

Firstly, a Happy New Year to you all! It looks like we’re off to a rocky start due to Covid-19, but I’m positive that by late spring / early summer, we’ll be well on our way to enjoying more freedom to enjoy running in the places that make us happy and with the people we love. Seeing the return of parkrun and races will be a big boost to the morale of many. Let’s keep our collective fingers crossed!

On a personal note, I set up the #247RUNNING community just over 3 years ago and it’s been a joy to watch it grow and to ‘meet’ so many great people.

‘Runners’, in general are a lovely bunch who are just trying to make the best of the abilities they have in order to benefit their mental and physical health. That has never been so important as in the past year for many.

The mutual support that runners in the #247RUNNING community and others, is also appreciated and fantastic to see.

However, for personal and health reasons (nothing critical!), it is time for me to step aside and give someone else the opportunity to run the #247RUNNING community.

I’ve made many real and virtual friends through #247RUNNING and have every intention of remaining part of the community so I can keep chatting to you all, but after 19 years of creating running online communities including equestrian, expat and now running, I am ready to hang up my admin hat.

If you have an interest in acquiring the #247RUNNING website, social channels etc so that the community can continue, please drop me an email at info@247running.co.uk. Please note that I am not looking for any kind offers of help to run the community, the new ‘owner’ needs to take over 100%.

Thank you for your massive support for #247RUNNING and each other. Let’s hope we can find it an enthusiastic new home.
